The Town of East Hampton - Full-Time Legislative Secretary. The Legislative Secretary serves as a confidential secretary for two of the Town Board members and must handle all persons and matters with discretion and diplomacy. Responsibilities include written and verbal correspondences such as preparing and typing letters and emails, including confidential communications; the timely submission of Town Board resolutions; maintaining email distribution lists; scheduling and confirming appointments; arranging conferences, meetings and travel reservations; answering phone calls and greeting visitors in a courteous and professional manner. The employee in this position will also perform a wide range of communication and public relations duties with constituents, media, and individuals and organizations involved in the legislative process, draft press releases, monitor legislation and track issues specific to the Town Board member’s liaisons. The salary is commensurate with experience, starting at $50,000. annually, for a 35 hour work week.
